RSPO - supply chain standards
There are three models of supply chain standards that can be used under the RSPO system:
• Identity Preserved – physical separation of palm oil originating from a specific producer from all other natural sources of palm oil.
• Segregation – physical separation from non-certified palm oil sources, allowing the blending of only certified palm oil from various producers.
• Mass Balance – allows the mixing of certified and non-certified palm oil in a controlled environment, ensuring that the volume of certified outgoing products never exceeds the volume of certified incoming materials.
Who needs RSPO Certification?
The certification applies to all edible and non-edible products that contain palm oil and palm oil derivatives. It proves that the product comes from properly managed/certified sources and confirms that it is not mixed with products from non-certified sources at every point in the supply chain.
